Yesterday I had the honor of being at the side of Helen and Neil on their wedding day. I met this cherished couple six months ago and in the time that we met for meetings we bonded and I am now thrilled to say they are friends. So yesterday had the added element of warmth and understanding between us as we went through their truly wonderful wedding!! It held special elements throughout as both Helen and Neil have incredible talents and ensured that exactly their planned vision came to life. Firstly, their wedding attire was awe inspiring….a truly breathtaking Vera Wang gown with sparkly Jimmy Choo shoes for her and stunning black custom suit with ivory tie for him. It was urban chic from the start of the day until the end of the evening. Colours chosen were a very modern navy blue and deep orange which were echoed in every element of stationary (even personalized programs – hurray!) through the decor. It emanated taste, class and creativity. Behind the scenes, Helen had made me incredibly pleased by being as organized as I am while Neil executed every little detail down to making sure that everything arrived and was set up perfectly on time. This was truly a wedding planner’s dream team.
They were blessed with a truly gorgeous September day – bright sun, no clouds, cool breeze. Everything definitely fell into place on time and with exactness. And so, riding in the limousine in the seat beside them, I felt my heart brim with happiness for them – because not only did they have a fantastic demeanor to them on their day, but in fact I know what a wonderful couple they truly are – in love and willing to do everything to take care of one another. It is that ideal that is the most romantic and most wonderful. They have what it takes for a strong marriage and you can see it!
On arriving at the ceremony I sensed something very special – an intimate happy group of friends and family….and once Helen had gracefully made her way down the aisle on the arm of treasured friend John, I sat in the back row of the beautiful historic schoolhouse with tears falling softly from my eyes. It’s one of those happy turns that comes after many trials and tribulations that you hope for and wish for anyone dealing with tragedy and difficulty. The ceremony was truly wonderful and conducted by Helen’s relative Alden to add that personal touch. Early evening natural light brought a glow that even a production company would have struggled to achieve.
In the blink of an eye, we were at the cocktail reception with elegant live music (a trio who had even reworked pieces by the Ramones!) and then the magical reveal to an ultra modern wedding cocktail party – WOW – what an evening it became. The concept chosen and executed by a very talented decor firm was white – ultra white – ultra comfortable. Low and high seating – mingling space and delicious food stations being replenished and newly revealed through the evening….what happened was the most fantastic party that I have had the enormous pleasure of being a part of. Imagine having time to talk and circulate, eat and drink, dance and laugh and relax. This wedding party was A BLAST and many of the guests wanted it to go on and on. Here’s a look at some of the elements that made the party a huge hit….

I know that many of these guests will talk a very long time about how incredible Helen and Neil’s wedding was – it is truly unforgettable!!!
Love and hugs to you Helen and Neil – I am blessed by your new friendship. Enjoy your amazing honeymoon in Italy!
p.s. Having to convince the fire chief and two fire crews that it was only the pasta station smoke that set the building alarm system off was truly something new for me – and another story I will truly love to share!! A special word of thanks for the firefighters who turned out to be not only friendly and understanding but accommodating to our bride for a few unique photos!
p.s. 2 I loved seeing you at the event Lisa and Galen and Kristen and Andrew – your weddings in recent years are also truly treasured by me.
Such a fab wedding!
Loved the decor & the food was amazing.
Thank you Helen & Neil for a most enjoyable evening.
Lots of love,
Britt
